Pamela Ann Rush-Goree found peace when her angel took her home on Tuesday, July 31st just shortly after 11 PM. Throughout the years of her battle with cancer, she continued to care for us in one way or another inspite of her personal struggles. Our memories of Pam will be an everlasting gift.
In 1991 Pam’s beautiful personality and charm captured the attention of one certain Fort Collins firefighter, Paul Goree, who fell for her- hook, line and sinker! Many of us attended their wedding and reception in November of 1993 at the Sylvan Dale Ranch, and what an event it was! It was the beginning of an era of good friends, good drinks, hard work and happiness. She knew what she wanted and how to get it.
Pam was an ambitious lady—there came a day when she decided to work for herself and bought Nancy’s Maid Works where she was the manager. She found success in setting high standards and keeping her clients happy. She maintained a well-rounded team of employees—which takes a lot of energy and, as we all know, is not a job for sissies!
Through the years Pam and Paul spent a lot of time cruising the Caribbean and enjoying their love of Jamaica. Pam and Paul took note of the island party lifestyle and brought the festivities home with them and entertained many of us for years to come. Pam’s joyful nature always made us feel cared for and happy to be there.
Their home is filled with marvelous works from around the world- dishes, artwork, and jewelry; she had impeccable taste. She had unique style and class and was fearless in speaking her mind—always diplomatically, of course. She loved her dogs and cat and spoiled them endlessly.
Pamela and her two siblings, Michael Harvey and Sharri Winkler, along with their mother Judy Rush were raised in a military family with New England roots. Pam gave birth to her first son Edgar who is happily married to Tina and enjoys life with their 3 joyous children Hunter, Creedyn and Constance. Two short years after her 1st son Pam was blessed with a second son, Allen whose life ended abruptly in 2008 at the age of 26. He left behind a son, Cristo with his loving mother Jessica and her Rock, Tony. Cristo has two siblings Chloe, and Collin. Pamela also leaves her new sister Lorna Henley of Maine.
Pam was blessed to have her grandson Christo live with her and Paul for the past year and to watch his graduation from Rocky Mountain High School this past May. He has been a great support to Pamela and Paul. She was so proud of his many accomplishments.
Each of us has our own special memories of Pam. Let’s treasure them and keep smiling for her.Let us remember Pamela today knowing she lived her life fully and would expect us to do the same.
The definition of the name Pamela actually means “sweetness or honey”— how appropriate is that?
