Prully Vink-Komariah, at the young age of 88, passed away peacefully at home on December 16, 2023. This was after she fell and broke two ribs and a vertebra. While in the hospital, she suffered a severe stroke and two heart attacks. We tell you this to show what a strong and amazing woman she was. She held on for two weeks so she could spend more time with her family. She leaves behind her husband Willy G. Vink of 69 years (you read that right, they were married for 69 years!); her children, Gaby, Jimmy, Ruben, Jane and Wendy; her sons-in-law, Charlie and Peter; her daughters-in-law, Mirjam and Antje; her grandchildren, Jason, Desiree, Nicholas, Danielle, Rob, Andrew, Floortje, Amber, Justin, Sean, Adan, Ellie, Devon and Merlijn; her great-grandchildren Austin, Robert, Austyn,Destiny, Serenity, Trinity, Indigo and Taro; and her great-great-grandchildren, Eugene, and Felix.
Prully was no ordinary woman. She lived an extraordinary life. She was born in Indonesia, where she graduated high school with high honors. Here she met her husband Willy and gave birth to her first three children, Ramon (predeceased 2019), Gaby and Jimmy, along with learning how to make the world's best Indonesian food (this has been verified by anyone who has ever eaten her food). World War II initiated the family’s move to the Netherlands. Here she gave birth to Ruben, Jane and Wendy. She traveled all through Europe camping and water skiing with her family, which is no easy feat with 6 children and sometimes required her to make three-course meals on the side of the road. She was also an amazing seamstress, making all the children’s clothes for the holiday dress. It should be noted that she spoke several languages, including Indonesian, Dutch, Portuguese, French, Italian and English. In 1970, the family packed up and moved to the US. Here Prully supported her family by overseeing the operations and books for Willy’s Automotive and the first ever marina at Jackson reservoir. It is hard to properly convey her accomplishments. Prully loved to dance and you would catch her and Willy going ballroom dancing at least 5 times a week. She was such an amazing woman and did so much for her family. She will be missed deeply and has left a part missing from everyone who knew her. I encourage people to leave a story about Prully (aka loving wife, Mama, Oma, Great Oma, Greata Oma and friend), so people can have a glimpse into the special woman she was.
Story told by Willy - We were up hunting and did not have a lot of time but we needed to get meat to feed the family. They decided to split up to save time. Willy heard a shot and immediately went to find Prully. By the time Willy got there, Prully already field dressed the animal and was ready to move it. In other words, Prully found a deer, shot the deer and had it cleaned before Willy even found her. When I looked to Prully for confirmation, she just smiled and laughed. Such a Badass!
A chapel service for Prully will be held Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Allnutt Funeral Service – Hunter Chapel, 2100 N. Lincoln Ave., Loveland, Colorado 80538.
