

Sandra “Sandy” M. Zimmerman, of Loveland, Colorado, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2026, at UCHealth Hospital in Greeley, Colorado. She was born on September 20, 1938, in Buffalo, New York, to Paul and Wilma Huber and was raised in Clarence, New York.
A gifted student, Sandy graduated as high school salutatorian and served as president of the New York State chapter of Future Homemakers of America. In 1957, she married Philip G. Zimmerman while he was stationed in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, beginning a lifelong partnership devoted to faith, family, and home. Over the years, Sandy made homes in Hawaii, New York, Arizona, and Colorado.
A devoted wife and mother, Sandy is survived by her husband and three sons Mike (Shandra), Scott (Stacie), and Tim (Veronika). She was a loving grandmother to Rachael DiNapoli (Lucian), Rebecca Allen (Noah), and Alyssa Zimmerman, and a cherished great grandmother to Elliana and Asher DiNapoli and Jordan Allen.
Sandy lived her faith quietly and faithfully, serving on the altar guild in each church community she joined throughout her life. Known for her frugality, resourcefulness, and creativity, she loved cooking, sewing, gardening, and preserving food, and her kitchen was a place of warmth, learning, and tradition.
In retirement, Sandy embraced travel, visiting nearly all of the continental United States. She also picked up golf, and was a regular at San Manuel course near their home in Tucson. Remembered for her calm strength, kindness, and unwavering support, she leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and steady devotion that will live on in all who knew her.
Funeral service will be held at King of Glory Lutheran Church, Loveland, CO on Sunday, March 15 at 1pm. Donations in her honor can be given to Meals on Wheels of Loveland and Berthoud.
