Along with his sister, Alicia, and brother, John, the three had fun together hiking, skiing, and climbing mountains in Colorado with their parents. As a child and teenager, Scott enjoyed little league football, baseball and wrestling. He excelled at tennis where his Loveland High School doubles team took 2nd place at State. He was a member of the high school state championship swim team his senior year. In addition to sports, Scott had many talents including singing in Loveland High School choirs and musicals such as “Brigadoon” and “Oklahoma”. Scott graduated from Loveland High School in May 1992 speaking at the graduation ceremony and was a recipient of the Hewlett-Packard college scholarship. He graduated from University of Northern Colorado with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology.
In 2004, Scott married Courtney Roe, and they have two beautiful daughters, Anna and Claire. The girls were Scott’s greatest love and the highlight of his life. He enjoyed watching Anna and Claire at their activities including soccer, swimming and dance. Both girls performed in The Nutcracker for many years.
In 2019, Scott married Alicia Bartnes whom he loved dearly. He helped Alicia open her hair salon in Loveland. The two of them, along with Anna and Claire, enjoyed going to theater performances and learning archery.
Scott had previously been employed as a clinic manager for John’s medical practice as well as for Weld County.
At the time of his passing on February 6, 2025, he was 51 years old and divorced. He is survived by his two daughters, Anna and Claire, his parents, Morley and Liv, his sister Alicia (Mark), brother John (Stacey) and aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, who live in the U.S. and Norway.
The family remembers many good times with Scott when there was lots of laughter and fun. We all enjoyed playing games including a Norwegian card game called 31. In Scott’s high school commencement speech to his graduating class he said, “Laughter cures the mind, the soul and the heart.” The family will remember these good times which will comfort us in the days and years ahead.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at the chapel at Good Samaritan Society – Loveland Village, 2101 S Garfield Ave, Loveland, Colorado.
