

Bill was born in Riverside, CA on June 27, 1949 to Stuart and Dolly Powis. He lived many places since his father was in the Air Force and eventually returned to Riverside where he graduated from Norte Vista High School in 1967.
He joined the Army in 1969 and served two tours of duty in Vietnam. In 1973 he returned to Riverside and graduated from Riverside City College in 1976. He went to work for Toro Irrigation for many years and then joined the Riverside County Sheriff's Department and attained the rank of Correctional Sergeant.
In 2006 after retiring, Bill and his wife Sharon moved to Colorado.
Bill and Sharon were married in 1977 and together they joined a blended family, Sharon’s dog and two cats and Bill’s dog and cat that had just had 3 kittens. Life was full of tail wags, barking and hissing and it was good!
Bill loved motorcycles, especially Harley’s, old trucks and old tools. He loved to restore old things and make them new again. His last project was a 1951 Ford truck.
He was predeceased by his parents, Stuart and Dolly Powis and a brother-in-law, Jerry Conerly. He is survived by his wife Sharon and their two dogs, Toby and Lucy. Also his sister, Sue of Prescott, AZ. His sisters-in-law, Becky (Jim) of Indian Trail, NC, Debbie (Jack) of Highlands Ranch, CO. There are many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly that will miss him too, Kris, Kelly, Brian, Kevin, Janna and Stuart. He was so proud of them all.
