Anna Charlene Holmes

She was born on November 26, 1942 to Francis Elizabeth and Wesley Melvin Drake. She is survived by one daughter, Rhonda Hines, son in law Aubrey Hines and two grandkids, Nick and Abbigail Hines who she loved dearly. Also by one brother Clifford Ray Drake and his wife Patsy and lots of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother George Drake and sisters La-tricia Holmes and Sondra Campbell. Charlene had many jobs in her life but her favorite job was caring for children.

She loved being a mother and grandmother as well as an aunt and granny to many. She volunteered as a Foster grand-parent for over 11 years and helped care for her grandchildren after school growing up and her great niece and nephew who she would always say were her heart. She had many friends whom she loved and she treated all of their children as her own as well. She knew what mattered in life and that was God, her family and friends. Granny/Mom/Aunt Charlene and Rene will be missed every day!

Our thanks go out to all of those who love her and us, along with the many doctors, nurses and aides who cared for her including Gentiva Hospice, Interim Healthcare, Trustpoint Rehab, Texas Specialty, UMC and Carillon. We were blessed by many who took care of her and us.
