

O. Archie Warwick, 73, passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2016 in Lubbock, TX. A visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home on Friday, April 29, 2016 from 4 to 6 PM. A celebration of Archie’s life in Christ will be held at Trinity Church on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at 1:00 PM, with a private graveside service for the family that morning.
Archie was born on September 18, 1942 in Conrad, Montana to parents, Vance T. & Helen Warwick. He attended elementary-high school in Havre, Montana and was an avid athlete participating in basketball, football and track. Mr. Warwick’s family were avid outdoorsmen, fishing, hunting, camping, and hiking. His favorite camping/hiking was in Montana’s beautiful Glacier National Park. He attended Montana State University on a football scholarship. After 5 years of mission training & work with Youth With A Mission in Kailua Kona, Hawaii, he was directed to Lubbock.
Archie completed his BA degree in Education at Lubbock Christian University, and went on to teach and coach at Trinity Christian Schools for over 30 years. Coach Warwick originated the school athletic program starting with track, and developing into basketball, 6-man football and golf. Over the years, other sports were added.
He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, a deeply loved & respected Bible teacher, coach, counselor, mentor and prayer warrior for hundreds of students over the years. He was named in Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers in 1998, and selected to receive the ACSI Career Service & Achievement Award in 2012 upon retirement. Dear to his heart, he was involved in prison ministry, reaching inmates in several states.
He is preceded in death by both of his parents and a younger brother, Kenneth. Archie is survived by his wife, Lee of Lubbock; his son, Kenneth, of Beeville, TX; daughter, Lynsey Rocher, her husband, Richard Rocher of Lubbock; grandson, Cory Rocher of Lubbock; granddaughter, Alicia Haumont and great-granddaughter, Autumn Haumont of Lubbock. Also surviving are and older brother, Vance Warwick & family of Helena, Montana and younger sister, Valerie Reeves & her family of Ft Worth, TX.
