Betty Jo Wright entered into eternal rest at the age of 95 in Shallowater, TX on April 4, 2022. She was born in Kaufman, Tx on February 25, 1927 to the late Walter K. Horn and Lavada Bell Hughes; and was also preceded in death by her siblings: Alice Davis, Durwood Horn, Johnny Horn; and grandson Grant Kinslow.
Betty was a strong woman of faith who dedicated her life to serving the Lord and taking care of her family. She enjoyed being the greeter at her church for numerous years and spending time with her church family. In her younger days, she enjoyed painting and sewing; but her most joyful moments were spent in the presence of her family, especially her grandchildren.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories her loving husband of 51 years, Verlon Wright; children: Michael Burk and wife Carol, Randy Burk and wife Sherri, Cindy Hickman and husband Robert, Betty Lou Kinslow and husband Bary, Leon Wright, Charlotte LaPaglia and husband Mike, Joe Wright; grandchildren: Jennifer Bartlett, Justin Burk, Melissa Johnson, Dalton Hickman, Jenifer Reeves, Kenneth Wright; 12 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Nell Crenshaw; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends, and her loving church family.
Viewing will be at the funeral home on Sunday, April 10, 2022 from 12pm-2pm. Services will continue on Monday, April 11, 2022 with a 10am Celebration of Life at Broadview Baptist Church, and interment to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park.
