Billy Ward Fry, 79, passed away Thursday August 14, 2014 in Lubbock. He was born September 1, 1934 in Dublin, TX to Otis and Katie Fry. He served in the US Army as a Radio Operator Instructor. Bill was the Amarillo City Soap Box Derby champion and competed in the National Finals in Akron, OH August 14, 1949. He also raced motorcycles. Bill was a self made man and he never met a stranger.
Survivors include his children Barry Fry of Lubbock, Belenda Siddle and Brandon Fry both of Wylie, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wives Barbara and Sue.
Visitation will be Monday August 18, 2014 in Resthaven Funeral Home from 6 to 8 pm. Funeral services will be Tuesday Ausust 19 at 10 am in the Abbey Chapel of Resthaven Funeral Home with burial to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Condolences may be offered at resthavenfuneralhome.com
