Billye Louise Murphy was born on December 19, 1929, to Newt and Anna (Newsom) Green in Terry County, TX. She married David Leroy Murphy on November 19, 1949, in Brownfield. Billye worked as a Library Clerk for LISD for 22 years. She was a member of St. Matthew United Methodist Church.She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, David N. Murphy, and Dirk W. Murphy; and a sister, Robin Lucille Green.Billye is survived by her loving husband, Leroy Murphy; a daughter, Dayna Murphy Purvis; and a grandson, Adam Purvis.
