Bobby Don Maloney, 90, passed away on Monday, June 23, 2025, in Fort Worth, Texas. Bob’s life was a life well-lived, filled with wonderful friends from church in both Lubbock and Fort Worth, good neighbors, decades-long friendships in the community, and a loving wife of 66 years.
Bob was born to R.J. and Clemma Maloney in Tahoka, Texas on April 12, 1935. He was a 1952 graduate of Lubbock High School and then, in 1959, after a tour in the U. S. Army stationed in Japan, Bob graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelors degree in Accounting. After graduating, Bob went to work for General Motors Acceptance Corporation and worked there for 35 years, retiring in 1995.
Bob married Tiwana Coffey in May 1959 and they enjoyed 66 years of marriage. Bob and Tiwana were faithful, deeply-committed and active members of the South Plains Church of Christ in Lubbock. They led a ministry to provide funeral meals to grieving families – a ministry they led for over 30 years before handing it off to Bob’s nephew and wife to continue. Bob also served for many years as a deacon at Pioneer Park Church of Christ and South Plains Church of Christ.
Bob was preceded in death by his four older brothers: Jack, Marlin, Troy, and Glen. Bob is survived by his wife, Tiwana; son, Les, and wife, Margaret, of Yukon, Oklahoma; daughter, Cindy Ratliff, and husband, Mart, of Fort Worth; three grandchildren, Daniel and wife Staci of Oklahoma City; Michelle of Dallas; and David and wife Becky of China; two great granddaughters, Eleanor and Emily; granddogs, Paisley & Hobbes, and many nieces and nephews.
