She graduated from Lubbock High School with honors in May of 2000 and received her associates in Psychology Major with honors from South Plains College in Levelland, TX. Candace loved learning and always welcomed challenges. She played basketball and softball while in High School. She played softball with several traveling teams, where she met long life friends. Her coaches Jody and Roy Valdez and Gerald and Holly Arredondo, in Candace’s opinion, were the best coaches ever.
She loved her pets. She had a beautiful fish tank which she loved and cared for. She had a love for animals, especially, dogs. She loved being around family and friends and they enjoyed her. Candace was the life of the party and loved to sing and have a good time. Many will remember her contagious laughter and beautiful bright smile. Candace brought so much love and joy to our lives and to those who were around her. She will always be remembered for her kindness, grace and love toward others. Candace loved so many, and was loved by so many more. She had an energy that with even one encounter with her, you would remember her for life. She always seemed to look out after others and would put others before herself.
While we take comfort that she is no longer in pain, we share that we will never be the same again without her. Candace will continue to stay with us all through memories and the laughs she forced us all to endure whether we were in the mood for it or not. Candace cared about people in the purest way. She loved them for who they were and because she wished the best for them, without guile or judgement and without asking anything in return. What you saw was always what you got with her, a true friend. She left us with wonderful memories to cherish and her laughter we will always be in our hearts. The world is a lesser place without her.
We can all picture Candace as a beautiful angel; her smile, her laugh now dancing with all the angels in heaven. Fly high our Angel. Until we meet again, rest in peace.
