Catherine B Ellis, age 84, passed away Sunday August 19, 2012. She was born January 4, 1928 in St Louis, MO to Alfred and Jane Burkhardt. Catherine had many positions during her life including Rosie Riveter during WWII and retired as a PBX operator from Methodist Hospital. She enjoyed going to Yoga and luncheon with her yoga friends, but most of all she enjoyed her family; she was the Matriarch of the Ellis Family.
Catherine is survived by 3 children, Tom Ellis and his wife Benna, Kenneth Ellis and his wife Melissa and Dorothy Estenson and her husband Bryan all of Lubbock; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother Al Burkhardt.
Visitation will be tonight, August 21 from 6 to 8 pm in Resthaven Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Wednesday August 22, 2012 at 10 am in Resthaven Funeral Home with burial to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association or charity of choice.
