Visitation will be from 6-8 PM on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at Resthaven Funeral Home in Lubbock, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 15, 2019 at Resthaven Funeral Home Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Resthaven Funeral Home.
Clyde was born in Wheeler, Texas to James & Dorothy Gibbins on September 6, 1938. He was a Veteran of the Vietnam War, having served in the Army from 1956-1962 and the Navy from 1962-1968. He was awarded the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, and the Vietnam Service Medal with 3 Bronze Stars.
He met the love of his life, Laverne Ratke, in 1977 and spent the next 30 years of his life with her until her passing in June 2008.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James Gibbins & Dorothy (Gearhart) Gibbins; his siblings, Laura, Jimmie “Monroe”, Verda, Elmer, Clarence, Winnie “Tootsie”, Peggy, and Odie; and his wife, Laverne.
Clyde is survived by his daughters, Shawna Mitchell of Frisco, Texas; Debora Peace and husband, Daniel Peace of Lawton, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Morgan Bishop of Gainesville, Georgia; Abigail Stanwyck of Rhome, Texas; Brennen Kiser of Panama City Beach, Florida and Bradley Kiser of Central, Oklahoma; Whitney Peace of Tulsa, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
