It’s easy to celebrate the life of Dave Roach —a man who loved Jesus, laughed loudly, and made the world a better place. On November 17, 2025, at the age of 75, Dave went home to be with Jesus, leaving behind a legacy of faith, fun, and ferocious generosity.
Born in Lubbock on October 27, 1950, Dave grew up loving life, being a little mischievous, working hard, and cheering on the Texas Tech Red Raiders. He graduated from Monterey High School in 1969, where he met and married his high school sweetheart, Beckye, in April 1974.Together, they built a life full of love that lasted 51 incredible years.
He worked as a master plumber to pay his way through college, a testament to his incredible work ethic and determination. After graduating from Texas Tech University in 1976 with a degree in Business Administration, he began his professional career with Universal Rundle in Garland. Later, he accepted a position with Kohler, which brought him and his family back home to Lubbock. He then took a job with Robert Madden Industries, leading the family to Driftwood, where they lived for 22 wonderful years. After retirement, Dave and Beckye returned home to Lubbock to be closer to family.
Dave had a heart bigger than Texas. He was the most generous man you could ever meet—the kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back without hesitation. He led his family with steady strength, wisdom, and sacrificial love. To his wife and children, he was a protector, a provider, and their rock. To his granddaughter, Armani, he was “Pops”—her fishing buddy, bookreading partner, and biggest champion.
Above all, he loved Jesus with his whole heart. His faith was the foundation of his life, and he lived every day reflecting the kindness, compassion, and grace of his Savior. He is survived by his loving wife, Beckye; children Leslie, Travis, and Natalie; and his beloved granddaughter, Armani.
A Celebration of Life will be held on December 12, 2025, at 2:30pm at First Christian Church in Lubbock, with a reception immediately following at the Roach home. All who knew and loved him are invited to come laugh and share stories in honor of his life.
In lieu of flowers, please consider giving to Kingdom Come Ministries, a ministry near and dear to Dave’s heart. The Pops Legacy Fund has been established to carry forward Dave’s remarkable spirit. He was the first investor in Kingdom Come, supporting a vision that his eldest daughter helped co-found, and his hope was simple: to see kids championed, families transformed, and communities resurrected in Jesus’ name. www.kingdomcomelubbock.org
Dave’s love, generosity, and unstoppable spirit will continue to impact generations, just as it has
impacted ours.
