Delfino M. Cruz, 79, of Lubbock, passed away on June 10, 2011. Funeral services will take place on Tues. June 14, 2011, at 10:00 AM in the Abbey Chapel at Resthaven Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Peaceful Gardens Cemetery. Visitation with Rosary will be held on Monday, June 13, 2011, at 7:00 PM, at Resthaven Funeral Home.
Delfino was born Dec. 24, 1931, in Uhland, TX to parents Elena (Mendoza) and Emetero Cruz. He retired from Furrs Bishops and was a communicant of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Encarnacion (Aguilera) Cruz of Lubbock; 13 children: Maria Cruz, Mary Helen Campos, Jase Alonzo, Virginia Landin, Ernestina Sanchez, Delfino Cruz, Jr., George Cruz, Cecelia Salas, Noe Cruz, Gabriel Cruz, Manuel Aguilera, Milca Lopez, and Elena Barrera; 29 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and two brothers of Lockhart.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother; two sisters; and by his first wife of 16 years, Carmen Cruz.
