Dexter “Deck” Carley, of Lubbock, passed away on August 13, 2016 after a long and courageous battle with cancer at the age of 87. He was born in Glen, TX on July 21, 1929. He married Cleeta Jones July 31, 1950. Deck retired from South Plains Electric after 34 years of service.
He was a member of Parkway Church of Christ.
Dexter had a passion for gardening and woodworking. As well as attending bluegrass festivals with his wife of 66 years.
Dexter is survived by his wife, Cleeta; son, Mike (Toni) Carley, of Lubbock; two daughters, Janette (Wyndell) Caviness, of Parker, TX and Jami (John) McKinley, of Portales, NM; 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; three brothers, Conway Carley of Portales, NM., Kenneth Carley of Lubbock, TX., and JT Carley of Fort Worth, TX., as well as other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents Danny Dexter and Annie Laura Carley.
