Donna Gay was born on October 8, 1955, to R.J. and Wanda (Langdon) Sanders in Levelland, TX. She was raised in Whiteface until her family moved to Morton, where she finished Junior High and then graduated from Morton High School in 1974. Donna married her first love, Randall Royce Tanner, on Oct. 5, 1974. She was a homemaker on the family farm initially and then worked as a teacher's aide for several years at Morton Elementary. Donna had a beautiful voice and loved to sing, especially as part of a trio with her two sisters, Robbie and Dilly, or the trio of herself, Roxanne Richardson, and Carol Ruthhardt. She was a longtime member of Morton First Assembly of God, where she served faithfully in children’s ministry and as the worship leader. Singing and worshipping god was one of her favorite things to do, followed closely by riding motorcycles, travelling, going on cruises, and camping. Randall and Donna left the farm and Morton in 1998 and eventually settled in Lubbock, where they became members of Lubbock First Assembly of God. Randall passed in 2010, after 36 years of marriage. On June 30, 2018, Donna married her second love, Steve Bean, of Haskell, TX. Steve and Donna lived in Lubbock and faithfully serve/served Lubbock First Assembly of God as deacons and members of the worship team. Donna and Steve shared many of the same loves, including camping, going on cruises, fishing at the lake house in Haskell, and riding along in Steve’s 18-wheeler. Donna was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend, but first and foremost, she was a child of God.
Donna is survived by her husband, Steve Bean; daughter, Wendy Johnson and husband Robert; son Wade Tanner and wife Becca; step daughter, Angela Bean; grandchildren, Brendon, Kelton, and Jadyn Johnson, Ali Gomez; CharlieJo, Crew, and Boston Tanner; step-grandchildren, Cody Mayfield and Mason Eppler; siblings, Wesley Sanders and wife Doris, Dean Sanders and wife Viki, Dilly Horne, Robbie Hembree; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, R.J. and Wanda Sanders, and her first husband, Randall Tanner.
