Doris Jorgensen, 87, died Monday, March 16, 2015 in Lubbock. A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at Resthaven Funeral Home. A celebration of Doris’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Bethany Baptist Church with Pastor Aaron Denson officiating. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park.
Doris was born on April 26, 1927 in Lubbock County to Charlie Milton and Mamie Price (Erwin) Gill. She married the love of her life Elmer Jorgensen on October 19, 1945 in Forest Park, IL. Doris attended church faithfully at Bethany Baptist Church and worked for Famous Brands Shoe Store for 50 years.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Jorgensen; her son, Jerry Jorgensen; 3 sisters, and 2 brothers.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Sandra Weaver (Richard); sons, Timothy Jorgensen and Ricky Jorgensen; her brother, Gaylan Gill; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
