Doris was born September 7, 1938 in Chillicothe, Texas. She owned and operated Courtesy Auto Sales in Lubbock for 28 years.
She is survived by two daughters, Kelly Smiley and Tracy (Michael) Morris of Lubbock, and one brother William Tom Simpson. She also leaves behind five grandchildren, Audra McDougal, Jimmy, Trae, and Landon Smiley of Lubbock and Clay Turner of Dumas, and one great grandchild, Tye McDougal. She also leaves Nieces and Nephews, Megan Turner, Randy Strong, Michael and Jeff Simpson.
Doris is preceeded in death by one sister, June Beattie and her parents William Dub and Evalyn Simpson.
Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 Funeral services will be at Resthaven’s Abbey Chapel on Thursday, July 15, 2010 at 10:00 AM with burial to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park.
In Lieu of flowers the family suggest donations to be made to the American Cancer Society (Hope House).
