

Lubbock – Services for Dr. John L. McMillion, 79, of Lubbock, will be at 10 am on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 in Resthaven’s Abbey Chapel. Interment will follow at Resthaven. Dr. McMillion passed away on Thursday, March 8th.
Dr. McMillion was born on November 25, 1932 in Summersville, WV to Leonard and Madeline Boso McMillion. He graduated from High School in Summersville and served in the US Air Force from 1952-1955. Following his military service he graduated from Kansas City College of Osteopathic Medicine and served his internship in Cleveland, Ohio. He moved to Lubbock in the mid 60’s and began his career by opening Parkway Clinic, and he continued practicing in the Lubbock area for 42 years. He married the former Joan Mayo in Dallas on January 19, 1974.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Jane and a grandson, Tyler Bidle.
Survivors include his wife Joan; four sons, Scott McMillion, Ron Ford, Paul McMillion, and Jeff Mayo; one daughter, Kathy Bidle; one brother, Eddie McMillion; and 14 grandchildren.
