

Throughout her life, Elena remained a faithful servant to the Lord, always demonstrating her unconditional love and support to her family and friends. For 27-years, her work ethic and high standards were an example to all that worked with her at Methodist Hospital; having earned numerous service awards, including ‘Grandmother of The Year,’ from Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. September 2009 atTexas Tech.
Her final request to her beloved children was “to remain faithful to the Lord and serve others.”
Preceded in death by her loving husband Teofilo Delara, of 57-years; daughters, Evangelina Sanchez and Francisca Delara; grandchildren, Tommy Lara and Elizabeth Davila; three great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and her second husband Reymundo Riojas.
Survived by her sons, Abram (Cecilia) of ABQ. NM, Tom (Mary) of Lubbock, Jim (Juanita) of Lubbock and Adrian, of Lubbock; daughters, Rosa (Julio) Llanas of Lubbock and Cathy Galindo of Lubbock; 20-grandchildren; 40-great-grandchildren and 41-great-great-grandchildren.
Friends may call on Thursday, from 1-5 and Friday, from 8-3, at the funeral home, to pay respects.
Visitation will be Friday, 5-7PM, in the Abbey Chapel with a Spiritual service beginning at 7PM.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, January 24 at 1PM at Emmanuel Worship Center, 1102 70th Street, Lubbock, TX.
