Elizabeth McCaslin Burran passed away on May 9, 2015, at the age of 91. Born on January 5, 1924, in Clarendon, Texas, she grew up in Canyon and graduated from West Texas State Teachers College in 1944 with a degree in English, later earning a master’s degree from Eastern New Mexico University.
In 1946 she married James A. Burran, Jr. of Clovis, New Mexico, and they enjoyed 36 years together until his death in 1982. Subsequently relocating to Hereford, Mrs. Burran surrounded herself with family, friends, and the caring members of First Methodist Church.
Mrs. Burran is survived by four children: James A. Burran III of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Nancy Forrest of Amarillo, David C. Burran of Denver, Colorado, and Vivian Rejebian of Ridgeland, Mississippi, as well as 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
