

Ernest Lee, 90, passed into the loving arms of his Lord on July 13, 2025. He was born on June 1, 1935, to Sellie G. and Sarah A. Lee in Louisville, KY. Ernest married Veta “Faye” Mills on June 6, 1958, in Sand Springs, TX. They had a blessed union of 61 years before her passing on August 22, 2019.
Ernest is survived by his son and caregiver, Wayne Lee of Lubbock; daughter, Robin (Norm) Nash of NY; and a son, Timothy (Deonne Lee of TX; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Faye; parents; three brothers, and two sisters.
Ernest was a proud member of Redbud Baptist Church since 2007. He served as an usher and greeter, served on the building and grounds committee and participated in the Men’s Breakfast.
In addition to his love for his family and faith, Earnest’s greatest pride was his service to his country in the U.S. Air Force. He enlisted in July of 1957 and was stationed at Lackland AFB, San Antonio, TX, where he completed basic training. He was stationed at numerous bases throughout the country and had tours of duty during the Korean Conflict, Vietnam, Guam and Thailand. He had a great love and pride for his prized B-52 bombers, which he took care of for many years. He was affiliated with the VFW, American Legion, DAV and the NARF. In June 1980, he retired from the Air Force after 23 years of service and numerous commendations. Following his retirement from the Air Force, Ernest moved to Lubbock, TX and worked in Civil Service for Logistics and Supply for another 14 1/2 years, retiring from there in September 1997.
