Floyd Dunn

Russell Floyd Dunn, age 95, passed away Sunday, August 26, 2012 in Lubbock. Floyd was born September 14, 1916 in Sunflower County, Mississippi to Russell and Lottie Dunn. He married Madelle Hamilton in Houston, TX in 1939. Floyd started as a welder with Glen McCarthy Oil and Gas and became owner of R. F Dunn Welding Service in Winnie, TX. He moved to Lubbock in 1986 and was a member of 1st Baptist Church. He enjoyed his family especially his grandkids and loved eating out with friends.

Floyd is survived by his son Dr. Jerry (Sandy) Dunn of Lubbock; 4 grandchildren, Deborah (Karl) Hunt of Lubbock, Donna (Tom) Howey of Brownwood, TX, Stacy (Marty) Baker of Lubbock, Stephen (fiancé Dara Mongelli) of Dallas; great-grandchildren Chance (Nicci) Hunt, Kyle Hunt, Tanner Hunt, Kurt Hunt, Keith (Texanna) Howey, Lauren Howey, Jarrod Howey and Cooper Howey; Great-Great-granddaughter Bryndal Hunt. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Madelle; 2 sisters Edna May and Nola Weaver.

Visitation will be tonight, August 28, 2012 from 6 to 8 pm in Resthaven Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 29 at 2:00 pm in 1st Baptist Church. Burial will be held in Forest Park Lawndale, Houston, TX.
