

Wendell was born July 23, 1930 in Hollis, Oklahoma to George Herman and Ola Box Campbell. He was a radar operator in the US Army and was stationed in Germany. He was honorably discharged as a Corporal. He married Juanita Ruth Gibson December 22, 1950.
He farmed from 1946 through 1961, he spent fourteen years with Horkey Oil Company and fourteen years in medical collections with Methodist Hospital in Lubbock.
One of his main hobbies was wood carving and he enjoyed wildlife photography, motorcycling, camping, hunting, fishing, travel and clowning. He was a member of Oakwood Baptist Church where he participated in a mission trip to Russia.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Juanita Campbell and his parents.
He is survived by his daughter, Sherry Bonita York; son, Garry Lynn Campbell and wife Bonnie; sister Merlene Schilling; grandchildren, Courtney and T.J. Williams; three great-grandchildren, Nevaeh, Skylar and Gauge.
