

Services for Geraldine “Cricket” Elam Davis, of Lubbock will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 17th, 2025 at Resthaven Memorial Park's Texas Tech Mausoleum Chapel with the Reverend Bruce Cotton officiating.
Geraldine “Cricket” Elam Davis passed away peacefully at the age of 97 on April 12th, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and grit. She was born on a farm near Ralls, Texas, on February 23, 1928. She grew up in the Ralls community, where she attended school and graduated.
She married the love of her life, Harold Davis, in a snowstorm on January 3rd, 1947, and together they built a life of entrepreneurship, opening the Davis Drive-In Grocery in Lubbock. Later, she became a beloved hairdresser and instructor, touching lives through her work and warm presence.
Cricket was known for her dedication to family, her Sunday meals, and cheering on her grandchildren. In retirement, she gave her time generously to Meals on Wheels, the food bank, and her church. After the passing of her husband in 1993, she stayed active and later met her dear companion, Richard Dudley. They would spend the next 18 years dancing, golfing, and playing pool at the Senior Citizens Community Center. She will be deeply missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Nettie Elam, her sisters Arlene Potter and Billie Lou Stinnett, and her husband Harold Davis. She is survived by her daughter Annie Heinrich, her grandson Luke Lusk (Liz Williams-Lusk) and their children Jade and Alex Lusk, and granddaughter Ne'Lee Wilson (B.J. Wilson) and their children Ryker and Cadence Wilson.
