He is survived by his wife Janie Mata married for 52 years, his three daughters Lori Mata of Lubbock tx, Tanya and Vince Ortega of Amarillo tx and Angie Mata of Lubbock tx. His four brothers Joe, Larry, Mike and Jesse, his 4 sisters Anita, Dinah, Elizabeth, and Helen. His six Grandkids Isaiah, Luis, Pedro, Alazia, Chloe, Caleb and his great grandchild Nevaeha.
He was a hardworking man who worked several jobs before finding his happy place at covenant for 13 years as a environmental service technician. He was a very devoted fan of the New York Giants and got the nickname “Giant Jim”. There was never a day he wasn’t taking about the giants and how they would whoop the cowboys to all the cowboy fans.
Jimmy’s memory will always remain in the hearts of his family, friends and all those who had the honor to have had the privilege of knowing him, his legacy will live on for generations to come.
