Glenn A. Peters, 80, of Lubbock passed away on Monday, April 12, 2010. Funeral services will be held at 10am on Thursday, April 15, 2010, at Wayne Avenue Baptist Church with Pastor Terry Kirkpatrick officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5pm to 7pm at Resthaven Funeral Home.
Glenn was born on April 2, 1930, to the late Landon Lee and Willie Belle (Keith) Peters. He married Edna Gillit in 1954 in Lamesa. Glenn worked for Farmers Co-Op Compress for 36 years before his retirement. He was very involved at Wayne Avenue Baptist Church where he was a member for 45 years; and was a deacon for most of that time. He also served as a Sunday school teacher there for many years.
Glenn was preceded in death by a son Carol Landon Peters.
Those left to cherish his memories are his wife of 55 years, Edna of Lubbock; two daughters: Debbie McCollum of Lubbock and Della Schooler and husband Tim of Lubbock; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and a sister, Billie Riddle.
