Grady Jay, 84, passed away February 17, 2013. He was born February 9, 1929 in Lexington, Texas to Clifford and Minnie Lois Jay. Grady was a member of the Masonic Lodge and served in both the US Navy and US Army.
Grady is survived by his daughter, Vicki McBride; grandchildren Jon Spurgeon and wife Melinda & expecting first great grandson; Justin McBride and Jay McBride; Son, Deryl Jay and wife Kandy; grandchildren Jenny Turner and husband, Gregg, great granddaughter Elliott and expecting a second great granddaughter; John Jay and wife Ashley, Jeff Jay and wife, Julie; siblings sister, Minnie Lois Boyd, Dorothy Jean Thaler; brother Billy Jay; sisters-in-law, Shirley Tucker and Sandra Childers, brother-in-law Jerry Childers. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, LaVerne; sisters, Rubye Schneider and Joetta Herklotz.
Visitation will be today, February 19, 2013 in Resthaven Funeral Home from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 20 at 1:00 pm in Resthavens Abbey Chapel with Pastor Richard Rush officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park.
