Gwen Williams

Gwen Williams 76 of Lubbock passed away January 9, 2013. Visitation for Gwen will be Friday January 11, 2013 from 4-7pm at Resthaven Funeral Home. Graveside services are set for Saturday January 12, 2013 at 3pm at Peaceful Gardens Cemetery.

Gwen was born in Sherman, TX to Charles and Ovie McClellan. At the tender age of 5 she arrived in Lubbock in a covered wagon. Even though she resided in Lubbock she traveled the world as a military wife. She worked on many different military bases where she served as an accountant.

Gwen is survived by her daughters Karen Sowell of Lubbock, Katrina Williams of Lewisville. Special niece Andra Ford of Lubbock, Brother J.D. McClellan of Little Rock Arkansas. Beloved dog Cho Cho, 2 granddaughters, 1 grandson, 8 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Vicki Horn, Grandson Aaron Sowell, 2 sisters Olena Bell and Helen Jean, 3 brothers Doss McClellan, Houston McClellan, and John Starnes and her children’s father Ken Anderson.

Gwen was a generous contributor to many organizations such as SPFB, ASPCA, St. Jude’s and Paralyzed Veterans of America. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to one of these organizations
