Reverend Mr. Hector Garcia Jr, a devoted husband, father, and accomplished professional, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2025, at the age of 83. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Aleida V. Garcia; his children Hector Garcia III and his wife Jennifer, and Cynthia Salisbury and her husband Don; and his grandchildren Andrew, Matthew, Emily, Ethan, Joshua and his wife Damita, and his youngest grandson Cade. He also leaves behind his cherished grand-dogs, Grayson and Lucy, and his grand-cats Frosty, Velcro, and Zuko.
Hector graduated from Upper Iowa University with a Bachelor of Science degree and built a distinguished career with Computer Sciences Corporation, where he served as a director on NASA contracts, developing software that contributed to space exploration. He also served as a deacon in the Catholic Church, ministering in the Diocese of Birmingham, Alabama, and later at the Basilica in Mission, Texas. In his leisure time, Hector enjoyed hunting and golfing, hobbies that brought him much joy throughout his life.
He is preceded in death by his father, Hector Garcia Sr.; his mother, Otilia Garcia; and his sisters Edena, Molly, and Mariana. His legacy of faith, dedication, family love, and gentle humor will be cherished by all who knew him.
