He grew up in Stamford, TX where he graduated from Stamford High School in 1957. He attended the University of Mary Harden Baylor where he met the love of his life, Malva Sue Purcell. He married Sue on August 26th, 1961, in Belton, TX. They later moved to Lubbock, TX where he worked at South Plains Electric Cooperative. He was a member of Oakwood Baptist where he served as a deacon. He was known as a "Jack of all Trades", he was a talented artist and had a witty sense of humor.Survivors include his son, Benjamin Bounds; daughter, Melanie (Paul) Fencl; grandchildren, Olivia Fencl, Jackson Fencl, and Hazel Fencl; great-grandchild, Salem Fencl; and siblings, Lonnie (Gail) Bounds; Joyce (Chuck) Taylor, and Darlene (Terry) Brandon.He was preceded in death by his wife, Malva Sue Bounds; parents; and a brother, Roy Bounds.
