Jackie Jones

Jackie went to be with the Lord Friday, October 5. She was born on November 10, 1924 in McCaulley, Texas to Frank and Drucilla Barton.

She attended school in Hamlin, Texas where she met and later married the love of her life, Louie Jones, on February 20, 1941. She was a Baptist by faith. She worked as a dedicated employee for Jones-Roberts Shoes for 36 years. She will be forever cherished as a devoted wife, a patient mother, and a loving grandma who built a foundation of love and faith in her family. Her genuine spirit and practical wisdom were a blessing to all who knew her. All who crossed her path were touched by her warmth, compassion, and hearty conversation.

She was preceded in death by her husband on May 5, 2005.

Survivors include her son, Carlton Jones of Austin; three daughters, Linda Beadle, Darlene Tate, and Denise Morris, all of Lubbock; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

The family suggests memorials to the Palliative Medical Unit at Covenant Hospital in Lubbock, Texas.

The family will receive family and friends at Resthaven funeral Sunday afternoon, October 7, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
