

Funeral Services for Jackye Hooser Hance, 86, of Lubbock will be held at 10 a.m, Thursday, Sept 23, 2010, in Resthaven's Abbey Chapel. Entombment will follow in Resthaven Mausoleum, under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home. Jackye passed away on Sept 20th.
Jackye was born on Dec. 6, 1923, in Vera,Tx. to Az Nelson Hooser and Callie Boone Hooser. She married J.B. Hance on Jan.22,1949, in Lubbock. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Lubbock where she was President of her Sunday School Class, and a long time volunteer in the prayer chapel. For many years she volunteered at Covenant Lakeside Hospital and with the Handicapped Children's Clinic of Lubbock. Jackye and her husband started The Pancake House in 1961. She enjoyed the customers and being President of the Lubbock Women's Restaurant Auxillary.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Doris Joyner of Little Rock, Ak., and a brother, Delton Hooser, of Seymour,Tx.
Survivors include one daughter, Brenda Whitfield and son-in-law Howard Whitfield of Ft. Worth, Tx., one son, Bryant Hance, of Memphis, Tn., one granddaughter, Kristy Whitfield Waters and her husband Andy Waters of Sachse, Tx., 2 great grandsons, Westin Waters and Reid Waters, and one neice, Sandra Woods of Little Rock, Ak.
She will be remembered for her love and devotion to God, family, home, and friends.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 5-7 p.m. Memorials are suggested to: Seymour Meals on Wheels.
