On June 1, 1950, she married George S. Haliburton Jr in Abilene, TX. They were married for 41 years and had two children, Mike Haliburton and Karen Prince.
Jeanie was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed making outfits for her family. Shopping was another favorite thing to do. She was well known at the local Bealls, and the ladies loved coming up and giving her hugs. But, if you ask her children or granddaughters what they remember most about her, they will say her dancing and singing. Of course, there was never a time when she wasn’t walking around humming music and dancing around the house. However, her granddaughters and great-grandchildren were what she loved most; she adored them, and they adored her.
She is preceded in death by her husband, George Haliburton, parents, and brother Larry Bounds. Jeanie is survived by her son Mike (Margaret) Haliburton and daughter Karen Prince; sisters Dolores (Sam) Welch and Debbie Dowdy; brother Randy (Becky) Bounds. She was a “Meme” to her granddaughters, Alishia (Adrian) Wendlandt, Shana (JD) Mead, and Kattie (Nic) Reid. We all believe she was most proud of her seven great-grandchildren: Sydney, Cooper, Parker, Gavin, Grayson, Oliver, and Nora.
We will celebrate Jeanie on Wednesday, September 28, with a visitation starting at 9:00 am at Resthaven Funeral Home. We will then proceed to Peaceful Gardens to lay her to rest at 11:00 am.
Our family would like to thank Silver Pines Nursing Home and Resolution Hospice in Bastrop, TX, for loving her for the past few years. Thank You from the bottom of our hearts.
