Jerry Doyle Alexander

Services will be at Redbud Baptist Church, Lubbock, Texas on Tuesday, November 25th at 1:00 p.m., Pastor Sam Olaniran officiating.

Jerry was born May 14, 1943 in Haskell, Texas, to John Henry and Johnnie (Logsdon) Alexander. He graduated from Rising Star High School and earned his bachelor’s degree at Sul Ross State University.

Jerry married Shirley Sue Nowell November 9, 1968, and is survived by the couple’s only son, Blaine Hartrell and his wife Kristi. Jerry will be remembered by friends and family as a loving husband and father; his greatest legacies are also the greatest joys of his life: granddaughter, Kendall, and grandson, Luke.

Jerry was a proud patriot and devoted his life to service. He served his country for three years in the U. S. Army. He continued to serve those in need through his professional dedication fundraising efforts at the Salvation Army. He was a man of strong faith in God, and maintained membership at Redbud Baptist Church.

Jerry was preceded in death by his precious wife, Shirley in 2005; his parents; his brothers, Arvil Alexander and Arlon Alexander; and one sister, Alene Thomas.
