

Jerry Mullinax, 93, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2025, in Lubbock, Texas. Born on October 31, 1931, in Akron, Ohio, Jerry lived a life marked by dedication to his country, devotion to his family, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys of life.
On April 23, 1952, Jerry married the love of his life, Nanci Joy Mullenix. Together they built a life centered around love and commitment and raised two daughters: Jeri Janine Mullenix and Debra Joy Welch. Jerry’s steadfast devotion as a husband and father was evident throughout his life and remained a guiding force in all he did.
Jerry proudly served in the United States Air Force for 26 years before retiring with honor. His passion for service extended beyond his military career; he continued to contribute through civil service for an additional ten years. His work ethic and sense of duty left a lasting impression on those who served alongside him.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Jerry found joy in many personal pursuits. He was an avid bowler and loved traveling whenever the opportunity arose. A familiar face at the local mall, he enjoyed walking their corridors as part of his daily routine. He had a fondness for classic westerns and could often be found watching them with great enthusiasm. A loyal Bengals fan, Jerry followed the team with unwavering support through every season.
One of Jerry’s greatest pleasures came from being present in the lives of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Whether attending sporting events or celebrating milestones, he took immense pride in their accomplishments and cherished every moment spent with them.
Jerry is survived by his daughters, Jeri Janine Mullenix and Debra Joy Welch (David Welch); five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nanci Joy Mullenix.
He will be deeply missed by his family and friends who were fortunate to share in his long and meaningful life. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
