Joan was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Emmett Neal Sr. and her son Emmett Neal Jr, as well as her brother Joe Charles Hilligoss.
She is survived by her daughter, Teresa Neal, and her beloved granddaughter, Taylor Elliott, both of Lubbock, Texas; Daughter-in-law, Mallory Neal and Children, Kem Watts of Fredericksburg, Texas and Dary Watts and grandson, Keagan Watts, of Lubbock, Texas. She is also survived by her siblings, Linda Windsor (Mark), Bill Spencer (Melany) and Debra Harding (Danny), all of Andover, Kansas, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Joan was happiest when she was surrounded by her family and made everyone laugh with her silly antics. One of her greatest joys was listening to her granddaughter, Taylor, sing! She also loved snuggling with her cat. Joan will be deeply missed by all who knew her. We love you, Grammy!
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or ASPCA, as both causes were important to her.
