

He was born on February 21, 1982, in Lubbock, Texas, to Hector Garcia and Rosalinda Orozco, and was lovingly raised by his grandparents; Maria and Jose Orozco Sr. until the age of 15 when he moved in with his father Hector.
JoAnthony attended Shallowater High School and spent his life surrounded by family, friends, and the things he loved most.
JoAnthony will always be remembered for his talent and skill in playing pool, a passion that brought him both joy and connection with others. He had a deep love for his dogs, Sassy and Pixie, and cherished the time he spent with them. Above all, he loved his family, especially his children.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother and mother figure, Maria Orozco; his grandfather, Jose Orozco Sr.; his grandmother, Guadalupe Garcia; his grandfather, Eduardo Garcia Sr.; and his uncles, Juan Olivarez, Ramon Garcia, Eduardo Garcia Jr., and Jose Orozco Jr.
JoAnthony is survived by his parents, Hector and Andrea Garcia, and his biological mother, Rosalinda Orozco. He also leaves behind his siblings: Hector Garcia Jr., Christopher Lee Garcia, Jeremie Lee Garcia, Joshua Paul Garcia, Nichole Marie Garcia, and Tina Marie Aguilar.
He will be deeply missed by his children, JoAnthony Garcia Jr. and Jayden Anthony Ortiz (Raven Graham), both of Lubbock, and Kristina Denise Anaya of Laredo, Texas, along with many extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory.
Pallbearers will be Jeremie Lee Garcia, Joshua Paul Garcia, Hector Garcia Jr., Mario Garza, John Paul Olivarez, Johnny Rodriguez, Albert Garcia, and William Hudson.
JoAnthony will be remembered for his love, his loyalty, and the lasting impact he made on all who knew him.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Resthaven’s Abbey Chapel, located at 5740 W. 19th Street, Lubbock, Texas, 79407.
