

Joe was born on May 19, 1932 to Oscar and Nell Stockton in Roswell, NM. He was active in sports growing up and was a member of the self-proclaimed "Dirty Dozen." He graduated from Roswell High School in 1950 and then attended Draughan Business School in Lubbock, TX. He married his lovely wife A.B. Alexander on September 15, 1951. Joe worked in Lubbock for Hemphill Wells, Randolph Manufacturing, Porter Manufacturing and DeRan Gear. He and his wife spent many years square dancing, round dancing and RV-ing together. Joe also enjoyed cuing for round dancing and played handball. He was a hardworking, kind man with a mischievous smile who was lovingly known as "Papa Joe" to his grandchildren. He is beloved and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Joe is survived by his wife, A.B. Stockton; his four children: Larry Stockton of El Paso, Susan Botkin and husband Tim of Gilbert, AZ, Mitchell Stockton and wife Melinda of Lubbock, and Leslie Smith and husband Mike of Midland; his seven grandchildren: Melanie Morrow and husband Joe, Dustin Botkin, Alexandra Botkin, Ashley Stockton, Taylor Stockton, Shea Stockton and Presley Stockton; and his great-granddaughter, Millie Morrow.
He was a member of Southcrest Baptist Church. His family would like to thank the sweet caregivers at Wilshire on 4th Street for taking such good care of Joe in his final years.
