

Josie “Rosa” Sanchez entered the gates of Heaven on January 13, 2026. She was born on September 19, 1942, in Chriesman, Texas, to Lorenzo and Cayetana Revilla. One of fourteen children, Josie grew up surrounded by the love, strength, and close bonds of a large family.
In time, she met the love of her life, Domingo “Mingo” Sanchez Sr. They were married on May 27, 1967, and made their home in Anton, Texas. Together they shared 58 beautiful years of marriage, building a life rooted in love, hard work, faith, and devotion to family.
Josie worked for 25 years at American Cotton Growers, where she was known for her strong work ethic and dedication. After retiring, she fully embraced her role as a stay-at-home grandmother—a role she cherished deeply. Time spent with her grandchildren brought her immense joy, and she took great pride in loving and caring for her family.
Josie was known for her sweet tooth and her love of life’s simple pleasures. She also had a creative spirit and loved decorating her home, making it warm and welcoming to everyone who entered. Josie treasured long conversations with family and friends and stayed connected through heartfelt phone calls, often spending hours sharing stories, laughter, and love. She was hardworking, strong-willed, and steadfast—qualities that defined her throughout her life.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Domingo Sanchez Sr., her loving daughter, Jacqueline Elias; her parents; and 5 brothers and 4 sisters. Josie is survived by her sons, Domingo Sanchez Jr. and Dale Sanchez; her daughter, Jessica and son-in-law John Ortiz; her son-in-law Mike Elias; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; her sisters Estella Revilla and Helen Castro; and her brothers David Revilla and Daniel Revilla.
Josie will be remembered as a loving grandmother, a devoted wife and mother, and a woman whose strength, warmth, and kindness touched all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished by her family and friends.
