Juan Rodriguez Ramonez

Juan R. Ramonez, 74, of Lubbock passed away on Tuesday, April 22, 2014. A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, April 25, 2014 at Resthaven Funeral Home with Prayer Service to begin at 7:00 p.m. Friday in the Abbey Chapel of Resthaven. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 26, 2014 at St. Elizabeth’s University Parish. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Juan was born December 3, 1939 to Ignacio and Cruz Ruth (Rodriguez) in Salado, TX. The family moved to Blissfield, MI in 1948. Juan married Julia January 6, 1959 at St. Joseph’s in Lubbock. He was a member of St. Elizabeth’s University Parish and a devoted member of the Serra Club of Lubbock. Juan was preceded in death by his daughter, Antonia Isabel; two sons, Alfredo and Rafael; two sisters, Guadalupe Casanova and Emilia Ramonez. Survivors include two daughters, Irene Ruth (Dallas), Cecilia (Michael Paul) Gonzalez; two granddaughters, Elizabeth (Johnathan) Espinoza, Christabel Mendoza; one great-grandson, John Gabriel Mendoza Zips; two brothers and four sisters. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Roman Catholic Diocese of Lubbock office for Vocations.
