

Judy Ann Vinson Stalcup, 73, of Lubbock, passed away on March 20, 2026. She was born in Dallas, TX, attended West Texas State University, earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and became a registered nurse. She practiced nursing at Methodist Hospital and then at Lubbock Urology Associates. She married Dr. Obie Stalcup and managed his practice for over 40 years. Later in her career she launched a prevention program for the Lubbock Independent School District employees. Most recently she practiced cardiovascular prevention nursing and arteriology. Judy was dedicated to delivering the highest standard of care and was loved and respected by her patients and colleagues.
Judy was loving wife of Obie Lee Stalcup, Jr of Lubbock, mother of Chase William Bales (1972-1997) and Nanny to Chloe Jane Gador of Arlington,TX, stepmother to David of Lubbock, Dana Jacobs of Boca Raton, FL and adoring grandmother of Kirby Jacobs of Boca Raton, FL, Blair Wischmeyer, Jake Wischmeyer and Kris Wischmeyer of Lubbock. She was also Mother-in-law to Terry Jacobs of Boca Raton,FL, Jason Wischmeyer of Lubbock and Cody Gador of Arlington,TX. Judy had a sister, Susan Vinson, and sister-in-law Janice O’Loughlin of Dallas,TX. She was pre-deceased by her sister-in-law Sandra Kay Crawford and brother Johnny Vinson.
Judy was a member of the Junior League of Lubbock and volunteered with Meals on Wheels, the National Charity League and Lubbock Symphony Guild. She and her husband led a collegiate Sunday school class at Saint Johns United Methodist Church in Lubbock for several years. And in the last 12 years, she dedicated many hours to All Saints Episcopal school, where three of her grandchildren attended and everyone just knew her as “Nanna”.
Judy had a tremendous amount of love to share. She was a nurse, friend, business manager, caretaker, cheerleader, emotional support, generous benefactor, pinch hitter and role model to many. Her beauty, grace and generous spirit will be missed.
