

She was born October 12, 1945 in Melrose, NM. She was a graduate of Lubbock High School. Judy attended business college in Dallas where she trained to be a KeyPunch Operator. Afterwards She worked for Shoprite Foods, then for Time DC. In the Mid 70’s she excelled as the owner of two businesses in Lubbock. She married William Patrick Ward III in 1981. They were happily married for more than twenty years until his death. Later in life Judy also attended Tarrant County College while working full time, where she earned a degree in Human Resources. She made the Dean’s list, the honor role, and was elected to be a Student Ambassador. She was a member of Alpha Phi Theta Kappa. Judy was recommended for Who’s Who for her work in HR. She worked for companies such as Harlan resources, Berryman’s, Air Treads, Goodyear, and American Airlines.
Judy was a Christian and a member of First Baptist Church in Lubbock.
She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include her son Tony Denby Brown, Joseph Leroy Branch ‘Baker’. Brother Mike Hoyl of Lovington, NM. Grandsons Terry Michael Brown ‘Alicia’, Heath Alan Brown ‘Veronica’ and Tanner Scott Brown. Nieces Cindy Runnels “Jimmy”, and Regina Murphy ‘Brian’. Four great grandsons Dillon, Alan, Aiden, and Daxton. Cousin Linda Sue Smith ‘Gary’.
She was preceded in death by her husband William Patrick Ward III, infant son Kip Hamilton Baker, daughter in law Lauren Marcelle Brown, mother Margie Belle Dolene Edwards, her Daddy Denby Wallace Hoyl of Hobbs NM, brother Hamilton Lloyd Murphy of Lubbock, Cousin Zala Smith of Clovis, NM
The family will have a private memorial service.
