Katherine Ellen Shupe , 79, of Lubbock, passed away on February 22, 2023. She was born in Lamesa, Texas on November 12, 1943. Kathie attended Lovington, NM schools 1st through 10th grade and attended Monterey High School in Lubbock, 11th grade. She had multiple marriages but married the love of her life, Ansel Shupe, on February 4th, 2003. Kathie worked as a bookkeeper and was self employed the majority of her career. Kathie had a passion for sewing, painting and reading. She is preceded in death by her father, Jesse Rex Austin, her mother, Zella Mae Austin, her brother, Wendell Austin, and her sister, Linda Crowley. She is survived by her children, Victor Parnell, of Lubbock, Cheryl Nunnallee, of Lubbock, Becky Nelson (David), of Lubbock and Veronica Mora (Michael), of Lubbock. Nine Grandchildren and 12 GreatGrandchildren.
A visitation for Katherine will be held Sunday, February 26, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. A funeral service will occur Monday, February 27, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Resthaven's Abbey Chapel, 5740 19th St., Lubbock, Texas.
Katherine will be laid to rest in Resthaven Memorial Park, Lubbock, Texas.
