Lila Faye Waters (Crowder), born on August 12, 1932, in Wilson, Texas, passed away on August 19, 2025, in Lubbock, Texas. She is remembered as a loving Sister, Wife, Mother, Nana and friend. She was a devoted member of Indiana Avenue Baptist Church and her community.
Lila is preceded in death by her parents, Lila and Joseph Crowder; her brother, Clyde Crowder; sisters, Louise Billings, Katherine Raymond, and Elizabeth Benak; her grandson, Evan Michael Waters.
Lila is survived by her loving husband, Charles W. Waters; her sons Charles Paul, Benjamin (Crystal "Cricket"); her daughter Leslie O'Connor (Philip); her grandchildren, Joshua Jobb (Angelina), Vivian O'Connor, Emma, Amie, Jeremiah, Jacob and Ellianna Waters; and great-granddaughter Sophia Lillie Jobb, and a multitude of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A visitation for Lila will be held Friday, August 22, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home & Cemetery, 5740 West 19th Street, Lubbock, TX 79407.
A funeral service will occur Saturday, August 23, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Indiana Avenue Baptist Church, 9507 Indiana Ave, Lubbock, TX 79423.
