

On February 17, 2021, Linda Joyce Laird Edwards, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother went to be with her heavenly father. She was born on February 12, 1939 to Gaston and Jewell Laird.
Linda was born and raised in Lubbock and lived in Shallowater for the past 37 years. She graduated from Lubbock High School and worked at Grinnell Manufacturing- Tyco for 28 years and retired in 2000. She was married to the love of her life, Troy Edwards, for over 51 years.
She loved her family and friends, country and gospel music, dancing, gardening, and was serious about playing family poker! She was also an avid sports fan. She had 3 children and not a day went by that they did not call to talk about their day and visit. She loved and cherished those special times. She will be greatly missed but we rejoice in knowing we will see her again! What a day that will be!
She is survived by her husband Troy Edwards, daughter Leisa Hall of Lubbock (Chad Vaughn), son Scott Abney (Sherri) of Tucson, Arizona, and son Neal Edwards of Lubbock. Three grandsons, Duane Welch (Misti) of Wolfforth, Duite Welch (Hayley) of Lubbock, and Jace Hall (Brittany) of San Angelo. She was MeMa to six great grandchildren that she adored, Hunter, Hadlee, Mackenna, Sawyer, Brystol, and Marley. Also numerous brother and sister n laws, nieces, and nephews.
Linda was preceded in death by her father Gaston Laird, mother Jewell Laird, sister Dene Armer, and brother Norman Laird.
We want to say a special thank you and big hugs to Wilshire on 4th Assisted Living and to Area Community Hospice for all of their loving care and going above and beyond for mom and all of the family.
In leiu of flowers, please donate to her memory to Texas Boys Ranch.
Visitation will be held Monday, March 1st. 5-6pm will be for immediate family and 6pm-7pm for family and friends, and will at Resthaven Funeral Home..
Service will be held Tuesday March 2nd at 10am at Resthaven's Abbey Chapel with graveside to follow. We ask that you "Wear Your Jeans.... Because Linda was a Blue Jean Kind Of Girl!"
