Moved to heaven on Saturday, May 4, 2024
Margaret was born in Lubbock, Texas to Pearl Ollie Whitaker, her Mother.
Margaret did not know her father, however, her mothers parents, Barbara and William Whitaker were a big part of her life. Margaret did not have siblings, but She had plenty of aunts and uncles her age to grow up with. She graduated from Lubbock High (where she attended with Buddy Holly) in 1954. Margaret never met a stranger and loved to live life. She met several famous folks back in the day including having her picture with Johnny Cash, Ernest Tubb, and Elvis Presley. Margaret was baptized February 21,1965 by Rev Jack Peacock at Calvary Temple in Lubbock Texas.
She met Jesse Raymond Boling (Peewee) and they were married June 16, 1962. They were together until his death on May 27, 1996. For the most part Margaret was a housewife and a mother, until her middle age after losing Jesse. She then did laundry for a couple of nursing homes. She could fold a fitted sheet as neatly as they come in the packaging from the manufacturer.
Margaret was blessed with a beautiful daughter, Vickie Lynn. She was extremely proud of Vickie. She bragged about what a good mother she was. How she kept things in order at her home all the while working full time. Vickie married John Dupuy. Margaret loved her son in law very much and appreciated her ball games and Disney Land trips with him.
Margaret also gave birth to Ricky Don (the one called the favorite). He was her pride and joy, her little boy (even at the age of 60). He sure liked to pester her, but it reminded her of his Daddy! AND She was ok with that! Rick married Chrystal. They have been together since 2002. She was known as “Gramma” to her new daughter in law because of the love she showed to their children. Margaret had also been blessed with 3 step children, Linda, Brenda, and Gary. She loved them very much and was always thrilled to hear from them or see them. From these 5 children, she was happy to have multiple grandchildren John Jr, Jacob, Avery, Zack, Stephanie, Josh, Summer, Alicia, Donovan, Danielle, Nathan, Chris, Sharell, and Jamie. These precious grandchildren have given her multiple great grands including 2 more that will be born soon. She also has a few great great grand babies. She also has some extra family, kids, and grands that God placed in her life through Chrystal’s family and friends of her children and grand children.
Her Uncle Bo and Aunt Velta were close to her age and raised their daughters Laura Ann and Tammy with Rick and Vickie. Bo,Velta, and Laura Ann were waiting for her in heaven with Jesus while Tammy and her daughter Stormi sat with Rick and Chrystal in Decatur Texas and helped her leave this world in peace.
Margaret always knew everyone’s birthdate, death dates of those that had gone before her, and many anniversaries. Her favorite color was blue. You knew when she disagreed with you.. you got a response of “hmm”. Her favorite thing to say was “that’s what I said”. We are certain that she is telling Jesus how we need Trump back in office. She could quote the Bible and very much believed in Jesus. She was full of faith and wanted to make sure her family believed.
Services will be held on Friday, May 17, 2024 at Resthaven Funeral Home in Lubbock Texas. Visitation will be from 930 am til 1130 am and funeral services will be at 1 pm. She will be laid to rest directly after at Peaceful Gardens Cemetery in Lubbock, Texas.
Proverbs 31:28-31
Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her:
“Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.”
Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.
Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.
