Maria Lourdes Aguirre Jeffery, 56 of Lubbock, TX, passed away May 28, 2019. Maria was a mother, a daughter, a sister, a friend, Alvin’s sweet Maria and a hero. To her children, Maria was a teacher, encourager, seamstress, chef, coach, listener, dancer, best friend and the glue to our family. She had a heart of gold and was always willing to go above and beyond to help her family, friends, and anyone she could.
Maria was a devout Catholic, member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church and active in many communities. Maria loved to explore the world on her Harley Davidson with her biker friends and encouraged others to travel. She was a hard worker and her passion for technology was an integral part of the Texas Tech University College of Architecture for over 25 years. Her life will always be remembered by the immense amount of love, laughter, and joy she brought to so many of our lives.
Maria is survived by her significant other of 8 years, Alvin Hammons; her children, Gloria S. Maestas, Joseph M. Jeffery, David A. Jeffery, and Amanda M. Jeffery; her parents, Jose G. Aguirre and Julia M. Aguirre; her eight siblings and their families, and her countless number of friends.
